Philippine Airlines Customizes Domestic Fares for Discerning Travelers

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines recently introduced new and attractive fares aimed at providing the best of both worlds to its increasingly discerning and diverse customer base

The new PAL is currently pursuing an aggressive transformation that covers fleet modernization, network expansion and major service enhancement programs.

The new fares - Budget Economy, Regular Economy, and Premium Economy - which are currently available in all domestic flights and Business Class on specific flights - are designed for today’s savvy travelers who are cost-conscious yet continue to have high expectations in terms of service quality.

The four fare classes will allow customers to tailor fit their travel experience to their actual needs.

“This new fare structure is a very ideal value-for-money proposition for our customers because not only will they be given choices in terms of pricing but they will continue to experience the same quality of service from our highly trained pilots, cabin crew and ground personnel in the air and on the ground,” PAL president and COO Ramon S. Ang said.

All fare classes will offer light snacks on board - except for business class that offers hot meals - but will have different baggage allowances.

For Q300 and Q400~operated flights, passengers have the option to buy food and beverages on board.

All four fare classes allow seven kilograms of free hand carry baggage.

While Budget Economy charges a fee for check-in baggage, Regular Economy and Premium Economy allow 10 and 20 kilograms of free check-in baggage, respectively. Business Class allows 30 kilograms of free check in baggage.

All fare classes earn miles as part of the PAL-PALex integrated Frequent Flyer Program.

PAL flies to three points in Luzon (Laoag, Legaspi, Puerto Princesa); eight in the Visayas (Bacolod, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Kalibo, Roxas, Tacloban, Tagbilaran); and eight in Mindanao (Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Ozamiz, Zamboanga).
