Philippine  Retirement Satellite Office Launched in Davao

The Philippine Retirement Authority, led by its Chairman PDGen. Edgar B. Aglipay (Ret.), has launched a satellite office at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) NERBAC Davao.

This was the Davao leg of PRA's 23rd anniversary celebration held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.

The rise in retiree arrivals, especially from Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Europe, and United States are due mainly to the competitive retirement benefit package of the Philippine Special Resident Retiree's Visa or SRRV.

In anticipation of an influx, the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) has selected focal areas positioned as the country's retirement destinations, namely Metro Manila; Tagaytay; Clark; Pampanga/Subic, Olongapo; Baguio; Cebu, and Davao.

"The goal of making he Philippines a retirement destination has taken off," said Aglipay, "The challenge is to build and create socio-economic and technology infrastructure that proactively responds to retiree needs thru our partnership with industry stakeholders."

PRA is deep in discussions with private firms, government agencies and local government units (LGUs). The agenda focuses on the continued active collaboration between PRA and the various sectors of society leading to more success thru synergy.

Along this line, Aglipay signed a Memorandum of Agreement with DTI Regional Caretaker Marizon S. Loreto and NERBAC Director Teolulo Pasawa in a move to lend support for the promotion of PRA retirement programs. In a related development, Aglipay also signed an agreement with the LGU in Davao City.

PRA's strategy to establish satellite offices in Clark, Subic, Baguio, and now Davao facilitates a quick response to retiree concerns that have resulted in high ratings for its effective service delivery.
