Skyjet Sets Maiden Flight to Catanduanes

Skyjet Airlines commenced its maiden flight to Virac, Catanduanes, Tuesday.

Catanduanes Gov. Joseph C. Cua, who was among the the passengers of the airline’s maiden flight, expressed gratitude to the company for the reasonable and affordable fare that it offers much as to the opportunity to uplift the province's local economy, particularly for investment and tourism.

The airline left Manila at 7:55 am and arrived here around 8:40 am, while return flight at 9:10 am arriving in Manila after an hour.

With its 94-seater, four-engine British Aerospace 146-200 jet, the airline will operate thrice a week every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

According to Skyjet CEO Joel Mendoza, the airline offers fare at a more affordable price without sacrificing the quality of the service they offer.

He added that although Skyjet is a commercial company, they are committed to help promote tourism in the province.

He also said that this will help solve the major setback in the province’s tourism campaign since only one airline company operates in the province in a four times a week schedule.

Skyjet has a special, all-in fare offer of P3,000 complete with snacks. A special rate to local resort operators, who will be allowed to book complete tour packages to their potential clients is also offered.
