The unique beauty of Darna Falls is located in the north-eastern part of San Isidro village in Dumalneg, Ilocos Norte along its mountainous hills.

The falls is a veil-like water cascading down through boulders and stones.

The stunning falls is also a plant sanctuary surrounded with wild ferns, “bilagot,” and a variety of air plants. The water flows down on every step until it drops to the pool.

Its cool and clear water is absolutely perfect for those visitors wanting to have fun and frolic on fresh water.

“There is something so naturally enchanting about this place, so anyone would be willing to return. Anyone would take advantage of their time going here and let their eyes feast on the nature surrounding,” said Judy Ann Suniga, local resident here.

Dumalneg is 73 kilometers far from Laoag City and is bounded by the municipalities of Vintar, Bangui, Pagudpud, and Adams.

This 5th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte has a population of about 2,947 people and was composed of only a single barangay of the same name.

On 10 August 2012, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Dumalneg in its territorial dispute with neighboring Bangui over the jurisdiction of Barangay San Isidro. (JNPD/Cherry Joy D. Garma/PIA-1, Ilocos Norte)
