Biri Island Hosts Award Winning Travel Show at Biri Resort & Dive Center

Biri Resort & Dive Center recently hosted a visit to Biri Island by the Philippines’ no. 1 News Channel, GMA News TV

Biri Island lies at the northern tip of Northern Samar one of the final frontiers of tourism in the country.

At just 24 square kilometers in size Biri Island is located on the San Bernardino Strait, the first sight of land seen by the Spanish treasure Galleons which sailed the Acapulco – Manila trade route from the mid 1500’s through to the early 1800’s.

Mystery surrounds the fate of a number of Galleons from the period whose anchors now lie on the quayside of Biri Town, the capital of Biri Island and also home to the Biri Resort & Dive Center.

Most famous for the Biri Rock Formations, formed over millions of years on the Pacific Ocean side of Biri Island, the Biri Resort & Dive Center offers the ideal base to explore all the treasures that Biri Island has to offer including unspoiled beaches, pristine mangroves, some of the best diving in the country and a rich history.

With no cars on the island exploring is an absolute pleasure.
